He worked a lot with large gestures, bright colors and emotion in his work. Although he did not officially belong to CoBrA, his style was related. Lataster drew inspiration from social themes and mythology, such as the story of Icarus. His work can be seen in various museums and he is considered an important figure in post war Dutch art.
