We are mystified why this amazing Southeast native marginal aquatic isn't more widely grown by gardeners with wet soils. Named after Italian botany professor, Guilio Pontedera (1688 1757), Pontederia cordata var. cordata has a wide range from Canada south to Florida, and west to Texas, where it is
