its odor is only evident when working amongst the plant

but the tidy gardener might prefer the refreshed plant

the cool weather provides the golden foliage with a lovely red overlay

Hosta venusta Japan Girl Arachniodes Our oldest garden plantThis new introduction from Japan appears to be a dwarf selection of the ever popular H. venusta. The tiny green leaves make a tight clump to only 3" in width. In late summer, the clumps are topped with 1 2" tall flower scapes holding only a couple of tiny purple flowers. This is a real cutie for the rock garden or troughs, so that it won't get lost.
