San Marino, Republic. A Military Merit Medal, III Class Bronze Grade Hold reverse embossed (AB PROV(Medaglia al merito militare). Instituted in 1860. In bronze, engraver marked "S. J" (Stefano Johnson of Milan) and inscribed "ANZIANITA" (Seniority) on the reverse, measuring 32. 2 mm (w) x 35. 5 mm (h) inclusive of its laterally pierced ball suspension, exhibiting spotting and light contact overall, without ribbon, better than very fine. Footnote: The Military Merit Medal was instituted on March 22, 1860 and was issued in three grades: I Class Gold
