The cap is fully surrounded by a fold down side panel which is trimmed along the top edge with a black rayon tresse. Stitched onto the peak of the cap is an insignia consisting of a black wool backer bearing a hand embroidered gold bullion wire National Fascist Party (Partito Nazionale Fascista) insignia in the form of a raised
