Pierre Alechinsky. Les palimpsestes. Afrique Medals and Antiques at thePierre Alechinsky, born in Brussels in 1927, is passionate about the world of print. For over 60 years, he has been collecting and gathering all sorts of papers with the most diverse pasts. Scouring flea markets and archival collections, the artist diverts old handwritten letters, business letters with letterhead, invoices, old maps and city plans from their original use to integrate them with extraordinary freedom into his own creations. By stamping
