He re-enlisted in October 1946 and in 1950 the RCAF became involved with the transport of troops and supplies in support of the Korean War

It is awarded in five classes: Chain with Grand Cross

with some creasing and soiling evident

in bronze with silver centrepiece

the other with a missing prong

(R.), marked STERLING on the reverse 6 oclock arm, measures 32. 2 mm (w) x 35. 1 mm (h), worn on a purple ribbon covered board for presentation, very minor wear, extremely fine. Footnote: Donald Cameron Young served on the H. M. C. S. Donnacona in the Royal Canadian Volunteer Reserve. He died at the age of 21 on March 1, 1946.
