Copte Jean Yoyotte (1927-2009)This work offers the translation of the hieroglyphic and Greek texts of the "Decree of Memphis" which is engraved on the one hand on the "Stele of Nobaireh" and on the other hand on the "Rosetta Stone". This Decree, promulgated in 196 BC under Ptolemy V Epiphanes, is mainly known from the "Rosetta Stone" (kept in London at the British Museum) but also from the "Stele of Nobaireh" (Cairo, CGC 22188), the latter allowing the lost hieroglyphic part of
